No. 2022/483858/07) ("Altitude Skills Academy", "we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 ("POPIA"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through altitudeskillsacademy.com, why we collect it, and how we use, store, and protect it.

2. Information We Collect
Depending on how you use our website, we may collect:
- Account information โ name, email address, and password when you register.
- Contact and delivery details โ phone number and shipping address, when required to fulfil an order or respond to an enquiry.
- Order and payment information โ items purchased, order value, and a payment reference. We do not collect or store your card number, expiry date, or CVV โ these are entered directly on PayFast's secure payment page and never pass through our servers.
- Assessment responses and results โ answers you submit to our brain-based assessments (Brain Profiling, Digital Radiation & Brain Health, Learning Style) and the results generated from them.
- Booking and enquiry details โ information you submit through our booking or contact forms, such as your organisation, preferred dates, and message content.
- Technical information โ standard web log data (IP address, browser type, pages visited) collected automatically for security and site-performance purposes.
3. How We Use Your Information
We process your personal information to:
- Create and manage your account;
- Process orders, purchases, and course or assessment access, and deliver what you've paid for;
- Communicate with you about your order, booking, or enquiry, including confirmations and receipts;
- Score and present your assessment results to you;
- Respond to booking requests for schools, organisations, and individuals;
- Improve our website and services; and
- Comply with our legal and regulatory obligations.
We process your information on the basis of your consent, the performance of a contract with you (e.g. fulfilling an order), and our legitimate business interests, as permitted under POPIA.
4. Sharing Your Information
We only share personal information with third parties where necessary to operate our services:
- PayFast โ to process payments securely. PayFast is a registered payment service provider and handles your payment details directly.
- SendGrid โ to send transactional emails (order confirmations, account emails, assessment results).
- Microsoft Azure โ for secure cloud hosting and file storage.
These providers may process data on infrastructure located outside South Africa. Where this is the case, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information receives a comparable level of protection, as required by POPIA. We do not sell your personal information to any third party.
5. Data Security & Retention
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures โ including encrypted connections and access controls โ to protect your personal information against loss, unauthorised access, alteration, or disclosure. We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law.
6. Minors
Some of our assessments and courses are intended for students who may be under 18. Where a user is a minor, we require that a parent or guardian has consented to their registration and use of our services. Parents or guardians may contact us at any time to review, correct, or request the deletion of a minor's information.
7. Your Rights Under POPIA
You have the right to:
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you;
- Request that we correct or update inaccurate or incomplete information;
- Request that we delete personal information we no longer have a lawful basis to hold;
- Object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances; and
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) if you believe your rights under POPIA have been infringed โ inforegulator.org.za, complaints.IR@justice.gov.za.
